Injections Have Begun

Well, last night was my second shot of Lupron. And also my first emotional breakdown! I was working on fixing dinner and realized that I could not find the elbow macaroni that I knew I bought last week...it was not something that a normal person would get upset about, but me, the hormonal crazy lady of the day started sobbing uncontrollably that I didn't have any macaroni to make my homemade mac 'n cheese! What a mess! Oh yes, the hot flashes.....have I mentioned the hot flashes yet? HA, THEY SUCK! I can't even get an hour of straight sleep because I'm waking up panting, soaked in sweat! YUCK! I keep telling myself that it's all going to be worth it in the end :)

On the up-side, Dan is doing a WONDERFUL job giving me my injections. I'm already starting to bruise, but from what I understand, that's quite normal.

IVF or Bust!

Where do I start? Well, things are finally progressing again. Our last miscarriage was back in April, we are three days past our expected due date for our last little one, and the first little one would be almost 2 now! Time sure does fly when you are busy. Life in general is great, but very very busy these days. I have been so busy with school that not much time was left for anything else, especially a social life! I've finished the Fall semester, and am now on break until February 14th or so. We're getting ready to leave for FL for a well deserved vacation for both of us!

So onto the actual subject of this blog.... Dan and I had another consultation with our fertility specialist, and we once again have a plan to add to our family. I was put on birth control pills starting Monday night, and will remain on them through this cycle. We have lots of paperwork to sign, lots of tests to be run, and we're hoping that the time flies! We are planned to have IVF (for those who aren't familiar, that's in-vitro fertilization) in February! It's actually moving faster than we thought it might be! We figured that once we had the consultation we'd have to wait and have tests run, and go through lots of appointments, before being scheduled for IVF (IF they were even willing to do IVF)....but that wasn't the case. The team was super about giving us all of the information we needed and get us started ASAP. In fact if it weren't for our vacation coming up in a few days, they were going to try for a January transfer!!! Amazing.... We're hoping for a first time IVF success!
